Some hotels are simply a place to sleep. This is not one of them.
BoHo is the kind of hotel I found myself looking forward to returning to at the end of each day—quietly luxurious, thoughtfully designed, and just removed enough from the city’s energy to feel restorative.
From the moment I arrived, everything felt considered and effortless.
The Rooms: Space, Light, and True Comfort
What struck me immediately was the sense of space.
Boutique hotels often prioritise aesthetics over size, but here the rooms feel genuinely generous. High ceilings, soft neutral tones, and large windows create a calm, understated atmosphere—minimalist, yet still warm and inviting.

The bed deserves particular mention: large, exceptionally comfortable, and conducive to proper rest—something not always guaranteed in a central location.
The bathroom is equally impressive.
A freestanding bath, a separate walk-in shower, and ample space elevate it beyond the typical hotel standard. It feels less functional and more like a place to unwind at the end of the day, especially after a day walking around the City in the cold!
The Spa: Intimate and Well Judged
The spa is not expansive, but that is part of its appeal.
Each time I visited, it was notably quiet—almost empty—creating a calm, private atmosphere. The space includes a sauna, relaxation area, and a jacuzzi that feels more like a discreet luxury than a central feature.
It is not designed for a full day’s immersion, but after hours spent exploring the city, it provides exactly the level of restoration needed.
There is also a selection of massage treatments available, offering a more tailored wellness experience in keeping with Budapest’s broader spa culture.

The Bar: Refined but Relaxed
The ground floor bar quickly became a natural place to end the evening.
The atmosphere is understated rather than lively, which works well. The staff are warm and attentive without being intrusive, and the service feels genuinely personal. There’s even a list of recommended local restaurants that the staff can help you book.
The drinks offering is well curated, with a strong selection of wines and cocktails. It is the sort of setting where one drink can easily extend into a relaxed evening.
Breakfast: A Standout Feature
Breakfast here is a highlight and worth allowing time for.
A well-executed buffet offers a wide selection—fresh pastries, fruit, and high-quality staples—alongside a made-to-order egg station. The emphasis is clearly on both quality and variety.
It is the kind of breakfast that encourages a slower start to the day, rather than a quick stop before heading out, but it definitely sets you up for a day’s sightseeing.

The Details That Make the Difference
What distinguishes BoHo is its attention to detail.
The service is consistently friendly and efficient, striking a balance between professionalism and warmth. Small touches—such as a complimentary tram ticket—add a layer of convenience that enhances the overall experience.
Nothing feels excessive, but everything feels intentional.
The Location: Central Yet Quiet
Located in the Palace District, the hotel is exceptionally well positioned.
Most of Budapest’s key sights are within comfortable walking distance—the Danube, the Jewish Quarter, and main shopping streets are all easily accessible—yet the immediate surroundings remain calm and relatively quiet.
Transport links are close by, including access to the airport bus, making arrival and departure straightforward.
The surrounding area also offers a strong selection of cafés, shops, and notable restaurants, all within a short walk.
The Overall Experience
BoHo does not rely on overt luxury, but instead delivers a consistently high-quality experience across every aspect of the stay.
It is calm, well designed, and quietly confident. The rooms exceed expectations, the spa is thoughtfully executed, and the service is both professional and welcoming.
For a winter weekend in Budapest, it proved to be an excellent choice.
